Super Bowl or bust
Tomorrow, the cities of Dallas or Indianapolis will learn the fate of the 2011 Super Bowl.
Indianapolis has Bob Irsay on his side.
Dallas has the general, Roger Staubach.
How can Dallas lose?
Actually, the Cowboys winning the 2011 Super Bowl bid is very exciting. Why? Because it is going to very funny seeing Arlington push through a bunch of hotels, restaurants and other venues in the area so this isn't a complete disaster.
Also, do you think they're rush some public transportation -- light rail or buses -- at some point? No other large city in the nation has a worse public transportation system than the Metroplex. And it is such an important cog in the success of a Super Bowl. Do not underestimate this Super Bowl bid and the impeding success the city must achieve.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn't just want the Super Bowl once, he wants it numerous times. But if Arlington screws the pooch in 2011 it'll just strengthen argument that it should be in San Diego, New Orleans, Miami or Los Angeles every year.
There's nothing like an impending major event for this area to forego red tape and get developments finished. The stadium may be ready, but will Dallas/Fort Worth. Hardly.
So let the games begin. Go, Dallas! I want to see how this train wreck comes out.

By the way, ESPN has the Cowboys as the ninth best team in the league in their off-season rankings.
