The Terry Glenn imbroglio
Is it me, or does this Terry Glenn injury stink? For those who don't know, the aged receiver sat out most of the pre-season due to having a cyst removed from his right knee Aug. 1.
A week before the Cowboys season opener, Glenn had injured the same knee in practice. Should he opt for a simple scope, he's back in a couple weeks but could be all Earl Campbelled (in a wheelchair) when he's 50. Or he could go with a microfracture surgery and miss the entire season and put his career at risk.
Initially, it is rumored, the Cowboys had posted a story on Glenn late at night with owner and GM Jerry Jones saying Glenn would be out for the rest of the year.
That quote was quickly taken down.
This week on his weekly show with Norm Hitzges on The Ticket, Jones feigned ignorance -- and was downright testy and perturbed -- not only respondeing "I don't know" in regards to when Glenn could be back, but also to the question of when he found out about the Glenn injury.
How do you not know when you found out about the guy's injury? Even if you don't, why not make something up? "I found out about two hours after practice." For all we know, that's the truth.
On Monday, the day after the Cowboys 45-35 win against the Giants, Glenn announced he was going to seek a second opinion on his knee, essentially thumbing his nose at the Cowboys' doctors (as did Greg Ellis earlier).
Subsequently, Glenn went ot see the same doctor as Ellis, Dr. James Andrews, and essentially received the same diagnosis that he had from the Cowboys.
Why hasn't Glenn made a decision? Why is Jones so hush-hush? Why is Glenn getting second opinions? What did he expect to hear in the second visit?
All questions with no answers. One must wonder what is going on with those crazy Dallas Cowboys.
The oddest part? No one's asking these questions. Maybe it is just an ordinary injury and these are the ordinary circumstances, but when the owner's acting weird, something has to be up.
