Blow Jays
Just at the peak of the season so far, the Texas Rangers are not one for timing.
Over .500 for the first time in two years and they roll out three bricks in a row against Toronto.
There's little good here other than the fact that the starting pitching (Luis Mendoza and Scooter Feldman) kept them in two games.
The bad news features the bullpen:
1. Free agent Kaz Fukumori was sent to Oklahoma City to learn how to pitch in America. Feldman was promoted to start Sunday.
2. Dustin Nippert is a disaster.
3. Franklyn German, no matter his ERA, is a day-to-day proposition.
Then there's the offense. Seems that half the team hits one day and the other half the next. completely uneven and out of sorts. Had the offense showed up at all Saturday and Sunday, they probably win those two games.
Then there's the errors. Three Friday and another Saturday. It's so bad manager Ron Washington had to call a team meeting.
Otherwise, it's Ian Kinsler doing all the right things and we might finally have a 30-homer guy in Josh Hamilton.
It's one thing getting shut down by Roy Halladay. It's another getting beat by Rod freakin' Barajas. Just a bad weekend.

With the latest letdown of the Rangers not getting with RISP I began to wonder, shouldn't Rudy Jaramillo be held accountable for some of this?
He has been labeled the greatest hitting coach ever (to an extent). I started looking through the stats on baseball-reference.com to see the rank of the Rangers hitting ever since Jaramillo joined the club. His first season with the offense under his wing was 1995.
In 95, the Rangers ranked 9th in AVG and 10th in HR, OBP, and SLG
From 96-01, they ranked in the top 5 in avg, twice in ranking first. During that time they also ranked in the top half of homeruns for the AL. Also keep in mind they won 3 Division championships during this time. Another argument.
From 02-07, their BA has dropped considerably while the HRs have soared. Their avg has been right around 9th place in the AL, while OBP is about the same but SLG remains in the top 4 or 5.
Man, you're preaching to the choir. No doubt Rudy has turned some careers around individually, but as a team this team hasn't been a good, consistent offensive team in a long time. There's just something not right. Change is needed.
