Half Nelson

Lord Byron: Better than you
$100 million later, the TPC Four Seasons is ready for the EDS Byron Nelson Championship.

That's the dollar amount the course invested in improving the course that turned into a laughingstock. Now, it's harder and longer. And the greens are ... well, green. No longer does it look like North Texas medians in mid-August.

The Nelson is always exciting no matter what. Granted, it's lost some its appeal with Lord Byron dying; nonetheless, it's a PGA tournament, in Dallas with some really good golfers in tow. If Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson doesn't want to come, fine. But why not take the guys that are playing and enjoy golf on its highest level.

Here are three guys, one of which should win the tournament:

Adam Scott
A young Aussie, who hasn't quite lit the PGA on fire as everyone's been waiting two years for him to break out. One of two top 10 ranked players in Dallas this weekend.

Scott Verplank
Won last year. Placed sixth three years ago.

Rory Sabbatini
A local guy by way of whatever country he's from. He should perform well since Woods isn't in the mix.

Interesting names: Sergio Garcia, Sean O'Hair, Ian Poulter (the guy that said he'd overtake Tiger), Chad Campbell, Trevor Immelman, Luke Donald and Chris DiMarco (what happened to that guy?).
