NFL mocks and more

The Dallas Cowboys are really boring right now.

Free agency is dead. The biggest news nowadays is who they'll play in the pre-season. Thankfully, the draft is upon us (April 26) and there is much to talk about (not really).

Todd Archer, who could be the smartest writer at the Dallas Morning News, doesn't necessarily think the Cowboys should go after a receiver early in the draft. His point is what will a young receiver contribute to a "win-now" franchise.

Tell that to the New York Giants and Steve Smith. Frankly, other than a running back and possibly a cornerback, there isn't a person in the draft that will crack much time with the Cowboys. But the draft really isn't about tomorrow -- it's about two years from now.

On the Pacman Jones front, check out the sandbagging both sides are doing now. Jones' agent is optimistic. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn't.

Mocks:

Don Banks
22. Felix Jones
Jones slips and slides up and down the draft.

28. DeSean Jackson

Rick Gosselin
22. Felix Jones

28. James Hardy
If Hardy falls to 28, that could be a shock. He's gaining more and more momentum as draft day looms. Hard to pass up a physical, tall receiver no matter his attitude issues.

NFL Draft Countdown
22. Aqib Talib
Arguably the best cornerback in the draft. This mock has him as the fourth corner taken. Talib falling to the 20s could be a mild shock.

28. Felix Jones

The Football Expert
22. Aqib Talib

28. Felix Jones
Can we just get him a contract and jersey now?
