A day with the Rangers

We're rolling with the Ian Kinsler photos 'til he starts sucking
Took in another game at the Ballpark in Arlington Sunday and enjoyed a 5-1 win.

Especially momentous because it was my second Eric Hurley start in a row and it was the first game for my 20-month-old daughter, Gwen. Things she enjoyed:

1. Her new soft Rangers mini-bat and soft pink Rangers ball.

2. Cheese fries.

3. Random clapping.

Things she did not enjoy:

1. The unexpected flyover by the noisy, scary jet.

2. The sun.

3. The fireworks after Chris Davis' second career home run to straightaway centerfield.

Ah, kids.

Notes:

1. Again, Texas Rangers, lend me your ears. An hour before first pitch, open up five more ticket booths. Believe or not, people are buying tickets to your team's games.

2. $1 Drumstick day is awesome.

3. Ian Kinsler is so stinkin' awesome. If things continue as they are, and the Rangers wind up five or 10 games over .500, maybe around 85-90 wins, Kinsler, along with Hamilton, have to be MVP candidates.

4. Chris Davis is so stinkin' awesome. So exciting to watch every at bat as he continues to adjust to Major League pitching. Reminded everyone of Mark Teixeira with that opposite field blast Friday night. Sunday's centerfield job was just was nice.

5. There is no bad seat at the Ballpark.

6. I get Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox, Braves and Dodgers fans at the Ballpark. But Phillies' fans. Are there enough Philly transplants in Dallas? Geez, I thought a cheesesteak food fight was about to ensue.

7. Love the good looking 20-year-old chicas rocking the vintage baby blue Chase Utley jersey, though.

8. I think Eric Hurley's been good all season. I thought he was really good yesterday. The pitch count thing will fix itself. Remember, we pretty much shipped Chris Young to San Diego due to pitch count/stamina issues. The guy throws strikes. We need four more like him.

9. Bullpen has been pretty salty all week.

10. The middle of the Philly line-up made me hold my breath all weekend.
