Josh for Josh
There's a new rumor swirling around the Dallas Mavericks.
Have the Atlanta Hawks sign Josh Smith and then trade him to the Dallas Mavericks for Josh Howard.
First of all, it's worth noting that this blog supports trading Howard by whatever means necessary. It is also this blog's stance that Smith is a pretty incredible player. Look at this way: Smith plays above the rim; Howard plays at the three-point line.
Smith is a biggest guard (6-9, 235) who can play the 2, 3 and even 4 in the right match-up. He's a block and steals machine who can rebound, score and throw in a handful of assists a game. He's a triple-double waiting to happen.
He's not the outside scorer, but he's an electric dunker, a true athlete. He makes plays. Why not?
The best news: Smith's a baby at age 22 coming straight out of high school.
If I'm the Mavs I make this move not only for the next four years, but especially for this year because the exact player Jason Kidd needs to be successful.
